About

Storytelling is at the core of Marley Hale’s songwriting. She tells her stories in unexpected ways, writing country and folk songs scattered with biting honesty and balanced with moments of tenderness and self-reflection. Hale entrances listeners with her deep and profoundly emotive voice, pulling even the loudest of rooms into focus, with a sound sometimes likened to Karen Dalton or Bobbie Gentry. Born in Texas and raised in California, Hale cut her teeth performing solo in cafés, bars and backyard shows in her formative years before moving to Brooklyn, New York, where she has honed her unconventional Americana sound into something completely her own.
